This temple is usually famous for its enchanting architecture and beauty of Anantha Padmanabha Swami. People come there in huge numbers to visit the deity and to offer prostrations.
By news it was known that there are 6 cellars revealed underneath the temple. Five of them were opened and the 6th one stands unopened as many rumours created an air of freaking curiosity. Nobody is ready to go near that door and try to open the sealed locks, tied with different kinds of talismans and holy threads.
The remaining cellars contained astounding amount of wealth in the form of gold, jewels and many other priceless things. Everyone was awestruck on looking at what came out of those dusty cellars. 6th cellar remained an unsolved puzzle. Every one who tried to open that door died with unknown reasons. Supreme court also ordered not to open that door.
Secret is that the doors of 6th cellar were sealed by the powerful Nagapasham. It is said that powerful siddhas who attained invincible energies sealed this door. These doors don’t have any nails or bolt to lock them. Marthanda Varma was the king who built this in 16th century. Many Vedic scholars and tantrics tried to ward off Naga Pasham by reciting Garuda Mantram and it didn’t yield in anything. So, we can think that a supernatural power is safeguarding this doorway from opening it. It remained as a mystery for this technologically advanced and modern world.
