For Marwaris, this is the New Year, and they start new account books on this auspicious day. In South India, Deepavali is usually celebrated through three days.

  • Naraka Chaturdasi.
  • Deepavali Amavasya
  • Bali Padyami

In some places, daughters and sons-in-law are invited to the house and are given sumptuous lunch and are gifted with new clothes. Also, cows are worshipped.
