1. Ugadi – The new beginning
Ugadi symbolizes the beginning of a new era. The word Ugadi comprises two words Yuga + Aadi. Yuga means era and Aadi means beginning. This is the festival celebrated to mark the starting of the New Year, predominantly by Telugu people. Like the world follows Gregorian calendar, Indians follow the Shalivahana calendar. The new year of India falls in the month of April, actually on Chaitra Shukla Padyami, the beginning of spring season in India.
