Kurmavathara is the second avatar in one of Sri Maha Vishnu’s avatars. Before death god’s many wars used to happen between gods and danavas. One day Durvasamuni gave a garland to Lord of heaven Sri Maha Vishnu. Devendra kept that garland on elephant head. Elephant shook its head and garland felt under the feet of the elephant and it stepped over it. By seeing this durvasana made a curse that Devendra and his people will become weak.
