1. Symbolism of Lord Shiva

Lord Shiva is one of the holy trinity or Trimurthis namely Brahma, Vishnu and Maheswara. Normally Shivalinga is considered as the symbol of Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is known as the destroyer. On the other hand Brahma is the creator and Vishnu is the preserver. Lord Shiva holds the importance of the final annihilation of the universe from when the new creation starts. He transforms the energy of destruction into the force of life. This means new life starts when we destroy our ego and other bad habits. The worship of Lord Shiva prepares us and gives us the ability to destroy all the bad qualities to start a new beginning.
