Why Indian Men Tie a Thread Around Their Waists?

We often see every Hindu male in India ties a black thread or red thread around their waists. This is called Kati Sootram of Molathadu. Even girls are tied with a thread either red or black up to certain age. This is an ancient custom that has been followed from ages and ages. There lies science in every Hindu custom. Even a small act can explain a lot, logically and scientifically. Many of today’s modern world consider that it is a superstition.
