2. Importance of Gold in Ayurveda
Gold is considered as the precious metal on the earth and it has medicinal qualities. Ancient India gave importance to gold as the prime metal to make ornaments and gold plates and tumblers appeared in eating places too. It is still a tradition that newly wed bridegroom is presented with a gold plate to eat. Many of the body builders are known to drink water charged with gold and used to put thin gold foil into hot piping rice and curries. The thin gold foil melts in that rice and curries which are then eaten like that. This is a very common practice of Indians in ancient times. Still at some places gold rice is served in India.
