Sometimes it is common that a coconut turns out to be rotten. Some consider that this is a bad omen. But it is not. It is not at all a bad omen if a coconut turns out to be bad at the time of rituals or in temple. When it happens priests simply clean that coconut and chant the ritual mantras once again. It is never the mistake of the person who brought the coconut.
